TREATMENT
This page will document the progression of the treatment for my own music video.
A treatment is generally longer and more detailed than an a synopsis, and it may include details of directorial style. Treatments is like a short story, except it is told in the present tense and describe events as they happen.
MY TREATMENT
VERSION 1 8TH SEPTEMBER 2012
CHARACTERS:
Nick Gordon is a sixteen-year-old boy that has had to drop out of school to take on the responsibilities of looking after his younger sibling (Daisy). Nick is of a tall, slim build dressing in a casual style; tracksuit top, jeans and trainers.
The second character in our music video is Daisy Mowle. Daisy is a three-year-old girl who is currently in her first year of primary school, due to daisy’s age she does not realise the seriousness of the situation that her and her older brother are currently in. Daisy is tidily dressed in her green school uniform; this contrasts with Nick’s appearance.
NARRATIVE:
Daisy and Nick are walking round the corner from daisy's school, as Nick has just picked her up. On their way to the park nick and daisy discuss her school day and what they fancy for dinner tonight. Once they arrive at the park they play together happily on the swings, sea sore and climbing frames. Both characters are seen to be enjoying themselves, and not have a care in the world. The siblings then leave the park, and walk to their local fish and chip shop. Here they choose what to order from the menu and nick gets his change out of his pocket to pay for the meal. Daisy and Nick then sit on a bench eating their meal. It is starting to become dark now and hints that the siblings are vulnerably housed are obvious as it is not usual for a 3-year-old girl to be out this late. The siblings then walk through a muddy track into an abandoned building, filled with scrap furniture, building material and general rubbish. Nick is trying to comfort his younger sister and assure her that everything is going to be okay.

TREATMENT EVALUATION
When we finished our first draft of the treatment, we asked the media studies students in year 13 to read it and give us some comments, they told us that they loved the idea but a treatment is supposed to read like a story in english, so in the second version we will focus our writing more on the narrative and not explain that the film is a music video and we will not reference the characters as characters.
MY TREATMENT
VERSION 2 24TH JANUARY 2013
CHARACTERS:
Nick Gordon is a sixteen year old boy that has had to drop out of school to take on the responsibilities of looking after his younger sister (Daisy). Nick is of a tall, slim build and is dressed in jeans a body warmer and trainers. Daisy Mowle is a three year old girl who is currently in her first year of primary school, due to Daisy's age she does not realise the seriousness of the situation that her and her older brother are currently in.
NARRATIVE:
Daisy walks out of a classroom and makes her way through the school corridor and down the stairs to where her brother is waiting for her. Daisy immediately runs up to her brother where he greets her with a big hug and spins her around. Nick then puts on Daisys coat and they both then leave the school. The pair then walk down the street to the station where they get on the tube to Epsom town, they buy some food and eat it in their local park. The two are walking down a long road to an abandoned building where they end up staying for the night.
TREATMENT EVALUATION
Once getting back the feedback from our first version of our script, we made the necessary adjustments and re wrote our second draft. This draft read like a story and was much easier to understand.
MY TREATMENT
FINAL VERSION 15TH APRIL 2013
CHARACTERS:
Ella Stephens is a sixteen year old girl who has had to drop out of school, in order to take on the responsibilities of looking after her three year old daughter (Daisy). Ella is of a small build and is dressed in blue jeans, a black top, black trainers and a long green winter coat. The second character in a music video is Daisy Mowle. Daisy is a three year old girl who looks up to her mum as a role model. Due to Daisys' young age, she does not realise the seriousness of the situation that her and her young mum are currently in.
NARRATIVE:
Daisy and Ella walk out of an unknown location, they then sit on the steps of a non vacant shop. Here they talk to one another as a teenage mum and her daughter would, whilst snacking on some sweets. Next Ella and Daisy walk into a local cafe, it is here that Daisy begins to draw what we assume is the house that she lives in with her mum, the two then discuss the images drawn. Later on in the day the girls go to the pond and have a look at the ducks, at this time they both look as if they are enjoying themselves and the day so far. Next they walk to the playground, on their way Daisy waves at the passer bys puppy, once they have arrived at the playground, Ella places Daisy into the swing and can be seen pushing her back and forth. The girls then arrive at a bus stop, by this time they are beginning to look tired, as night begins to approach. Next we see Ella and Daisy departing from the bus, Ella is carrying Daisy on her back as Daisy is now asleep, they walk a fair distance until they arrive at there final destination, where they will be spending the night. Lastly the young mum and her daughter enter the abandoned structure, Ella seems to be worried and fears for the safety of her daughter Daisy. Finally, Ella sits with Daisy in her arms on a battered sofa as Daisy begins to fall to sleep, it is now extremely obvious that the teenage mum and her daughter are vulnerably housed.

TREATMENT EVALUATION
This is our last version of our treatment. Due to some problems, with our actor he was unable to attend on the day of filming. We made the drastic decision to change the storyline to a young mother and her child.
